Crossword puzzles are popular in Britain. Most daily newspapers contain at least one crossword, often on the back page. There are "straight" crosswords, where the clues are simple descriptions of the answers, and "cryptic" crosswords, where the clues are less direct (for example: anagrams).

UK STUDENT LIFE CROSSWORD

The answers to the clues in this crossword are connected with Britain in some way. If you don't know an answer, you can click on the link which is shown as a "hint": the answer will appear somewhere on that page. If you don't understand a word or want to check a spelling, use the Dictionary tool. You can also try to use the Translate tool if you need to translate something into your own language.

Each row has been given a letter, and each column has been given a number. Clues have been labelled using the row letter and column number for the first square in each word. For example, the first across clue is labelled B1, because it starts in row B and column 1. The number of letters in the answer is shown in brackets at the end of each clue (if the answer has more than one word, the length of each word is shown).

You can write the answers either by clicking on each grid square and typing the letter, or by printing this page and writing answers using a pen. If you would like to print just the grid, click here (the grid will open in a separate window).
